Start by searching the graph for the subject's names, aliases and identifiers. Reuse an existing record when it describes the same subject.
Create a clear record
[edit source]Use Special:NewItem for a subject that is missing. Give it a clear label and a concise description that distinguishes it from similarly named subjects. Add useful aliases. Describe the subject neutrally and avoid promotional wording.
Add statements and references
[edit source]Choose a property that expresses the relationship accurately. Add the value, any necessary qualifiers and reliable sources that support the statement. A source should support the specific value and context being asserted. Check dates, units and language. Use ranks to distinguish current or preferred values from deprecated claims; do not make unsupported claims merely to complete a record.
Link to an article
[edit source]Use the Roovet Articles sitelink for an article about the same subject. Match people to their biographies, books to their book articles, and organizations to their organization articles. A creator, a fictional character, a book and a company are separate subjects even when their names are related.
Review your work
[edit source]Use the record's history to review changes. Follow connected records and check source references. Preserve useful earlier information in the revision history. Avoid creating a replacement item simply because an older identifier appears in a search result; first check that the identifier resolves to a current Item page.
